tectonic (limited edition print) · Paracas / Peru · 2013

Our little, perishable human eyes make Earth seem so immutable. Rock-solid cliffs look like they always have been and always will be. Of course, the planetary face is changing as it ages, just like ours, just a little slower. Future generations will have to redraw the physical map according to what erosion, climate change, and tectonic movements dictate. And tectonic change is bound to happen on that political map too, as homo not-always-so-sapiens pushes or erases arbitrary borders with pencils or tanks. We will all be moved by this constant and inevitable change, one way or another, literally and figuratively. Those who desperately cling to the known, might find that it doesn’t have much grip. Those who welcome the unknown might find comfort in the embrace of change.

This print is part of the flash sale "I'm 12 now." The collection celebrates my 12th travel anniversary with 12 previously unpublished prints in limited editions of 12, signed and numbered, in a 12”x12” square format (30x30 cm). They are available only between May 16th and May 26 at 120 EUR. May 26th is the day I was born, and May 16th the day I was reborn. That's the day I left home to start a new life. Now, twelve years later, I'm still out here. This collection is my smallest-numbered and yet most affordable limited edition to date. A gift for you and me. I truly appreciate your support!!
